When many waste managers discover the benefits of arc-plasma gasification for the first time their impression is: this is too good to be true. In fact, many waste managers have failed to successfully implement plants because ownership of ongoing maintenance has never been appropriately assigned.

Waste managers are in the business of processing waste, not producing electricity. The initial advantage of the marginal revenue created by gasification has been quickly eliminated when a component in the plant needs maintenance.
